I was mad!

Recently, I received an email from a national group – these are direct quotes from the Healthcare Chaplaincy Network, PROVIDING SPIRITUAL COMFORT (emphasis mine):

Professional chaplains do not provide definitive answers to questions and issues of spiritual distress. Instead, they help people in spiritual distress to identify and draw upon their own sources of spiritual strength – regardless of religion or beliefs. Snip…

“Our goal is to help you identify where you want to go.”

Professional chaplains will accept without judgment the person in pain’s own beliefs, faith and practice as well as their doubts and misgivings. A health care chaplain becomes board certified when they {Snip, snip, snip} and commits to a professional code of ethics prohibits proselytizing.

Well, what does all that mean? It means we are not allowed to bring Jesus into the conversation – that’s exactly what it means. Folks, we have been hornswoggled! These are the same people who proclaim “all roads lead to heaven and to God”. They are so focused on being acceptable or politically correct to their peers in medicine, they have completely forsaken the mandate we were given to:

Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

When we allow society and our institutions to tell us what we can say, when we can say it, to whom we may say it and how to say it, we have been completely overtaken by the enemy! I just noticed at the top of the email announcing this new online service that they are ministering to the Human Spirit. That explains a lot.

As I said, I was mad… I’ve been a chaplain for some time and I have never have given up my faith. When Peter and John were hauled before the high priest and the Sanhedrin for preaching about Jesus, and told to stop preaching and teaching in the name of Jesus, they said:

Acts 4:19-20 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

I know there are a great number of dedicated chaplains who go along with the secular rules and walk the walk and talk the talk that is expected of them – just so they can minister in a place where true believers are not really welcome. It is sad to me that a healthcare chaplain cannot enter a patients room unless invited, or that we can not offer Jesus to the bound, lost and dying without having to look over our shoulders because someone is watching. But, that is the world we live in and it is just going to become even more difficult to minister the truth in the days ahead.

I have had hospital chaplains ask me to leave because we were disturbing other patients with our Jesus talk. Is it no wonder we see so little healing in our healthcare institutions? Even Jesus could heal only a few where He was not believed.

All this reminds me of how easy it is to become offended and begin to beat our brothers. The battle we face is not with flesh and blood but:

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We see heavy demonic influence in the media, in politics, even in some churches and ministries, in healthcare, in our schools and in our courthouses across this country.

We have liberal politicians, judges, and doctors who have no problem ordaining the wholesale slaughter of innocent young children still in their mother’s womb.

We have politicians in Washington who are just bloated with pure pride, arrogance, and greed, and who are only looking to serve themselves and their own special interests instead of the real interests of the American people.

We have people telling us we must embrace diversity no matter how uncomfortable it makes us and that there are no absolutes any longer.

We have so many people telling us that those who hate us and despise us simply because we are a Christian nation really don’t mean us any harm and they need to accepted and brought into the fold; that we can allow them to enact their own laws (sharia) and it won’t hurt us.

I watched a young man from the area of the Kasmir talk about how he would like to get his hands on anyone who was opposed to his view, and slit their throat just so he could watch the blood and the life drain out of them. Absolutely demonically inspired.

Demonic influences are all around us and they oppose us and entice us every single day to become offended and take up the challenge. The goal is to either entice us to sin, or to enflame us to the point that we loose our Christian witness because we get so caught up in the area where we are offended.

Whether the issue is greed, homosexuality, islam, pride or any other issue – look for the influence of the demonic. It is always there and the enemy knows exactly how to push our buttons. We must remember we are in the world, but not of the world. We make a difference just being the children of God we are called to be; not in facing down our opponents or antagonists.

You know what? I’m still mad, but at least my anger is now focused on the right enemy and my prayers are directed at stopping his influence in our lives.

Father, please help us to realize that everything we see happening in this world either comes from you or our enemy. Open our eyes and let us see and discern the works and the armaments that are arrayed against us. Please help us by giving us the inspiration to pray against these demonic structures, and against the wiles and temptations we are faced with. Remind us we are to be light in this dark and dying world – we are not to contribute to the darkness. Help us to rise above the snake line and see that we are indeed the children of God and that when it is all said and done, we win! Thank you Father for Jesus and let us never forget it is His sacrifice that saves us and not we ourselves. Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name! In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

  1. Good post. The devil is behind this growing antichrist spirit in the world and it is wise advice you give us to keep remembering this.
BTW did you change the name of your blog and your gravitar? I’m not sure if I’m getting you mixed up with someone else. Are you the gal from Australia?

      1. O dear I messed that one up. You’re not even a gal! Somewhere out there is someone with a very similar photo. Haha.
