He Who Keeps Truth Forever

Wow! I really like that name. It comes from Psalm 146:5-6

    Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,

    Whose hope is in the LORD his God,

    Who made heaven and earth,

    The sea, and all that is in them;

    Who keeps truth forever,

Truth is mentioned 237 times in 224 verses in the Authorized Version. 40 of these are in the books of John. Here is a sample of these wonderful truths:

Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Psalm 25:10  All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

Psalm 31:5  Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

Psalm 33:4  For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Psalm 100:5  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Psalm 119:151  Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.

Malachi 2:6  The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Lord is the originator and keeper of the truth! Of all the truth! Jesus is the way, the truth and the life! There is precious little truth left to us in the world today, but we do have the Word and His Spirit. He upholds the truth for He is the truth! There is no lie in Him, nor any shadow of turning! Isaiah 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

His name is Jesus! And, Jesus is the truth! Praise God!
