O Children of Jacob, His Chosen Ones

This is from Psalm 105, verse 6 and every time I read the word chosen in the Bible, I get really excited for you see we too are his chosen ones!

God has chosen us, in this day and age, to be his witnesses to a lost and dying world. The world is full of sin and disease, and people are suffering around the globe because of all the  evil and prevalence of darkness. We see good being called bad and vice versa. We see the most despicable acts being perpetrated on the children of God – the peoples of The Book by the those who follow a moon god. We see people still hell-bent on sacrificing their children to molech and an altar of convenience.

We wring our hands and like Lot, we despair at the gate over the sins of our brothers. I often feel like I’m in Sodom and Gomorra with the way our country is going and I expect the Lord to unleash his unmitigated wrath on us at any time.

And, yet…

Our God is the God is more than enough! He has chosen us to be his witnesses to a lost and dying world. We are not to despair and go the way of the world. Our redemption draws near! Jesus told us when we saw these things happening to rejoice! Because the time of our redemption was nearer than it was before. We are chosen! We know the end of all things for it is clearly written and it will come to pass exactly as it is written.

So, let’s not act like we have no hope – for our Lord is the Lord of hope. He often rescues his people right on the verge of sudden destruction – maybe he will do that again? We need to declare and proclaim his goodness to this world. We need to be kind to those who are not kind, gentle to those who are brutal, loving to the unlovable and steadfast in our trust and love for Jesus! Remember, he has us in his grip and he will never let us go! This is Jesus’ prayer:

John 17:20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You. May they also be one in Us, that the world may believe that You have sent Me. 22 I have given them the glory which You gave Me, that they may be one even as We are one: 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfect in unity, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

24 “Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, that they may see My glory which You have given Me. For You loved Me before the creation of the world.

Did you get that? We are one with Jesus and the Father! We will be with Jesus! We have authority over the dominions of darkness and the very elements of this world. Declare what you want to happen! Speak life – not death! Declare that America will turn back to God! Declare that a mighty revival will break loose here in America – now! Declare that our government will be run by god-fearing men and women who will seek God’s face and his will and then obey him! Declare that your families will be saved and become born again! Declare that you will walk in health and prosperity so you may serve the Lord!
