Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Time is growing short and greater extremes of good and evil most certainly will occur, for the battle intensifies in the spirit realm. But the church is waxing bold! As we must! There are too many souls at stake to sit back and take it easy. As we Christians grow fewer in number, our stand must impact others to a greater degree. To do that, we need to love more, and reach out to the unlovely, and maybe even the hideous. Remember Legion?
It’s not fire and brimstone that draws people – it’s the love of God! It’s his grace that makes all the difference. We’ve been through some very dark days, and we know there are more ahead. However, we have been given a reprieve and the last name is yet to be written in the book of life, so we have more time to reach out, to touch others and to love them as Jesus would.
I don’t think the above verse was a lament – I think it was a proclamation! Jesus will find faith on the earth when he returns, and let it begin with us!
Yes Father, please help us by increasing our faith. give us a greater measure of faith in you and your steadfastness. We thank you for the turnout, and the vote to change the status quo. We thank you for providing an unlikely candidate who can and will make a tremendous difference in the time you have allotted him. Help us to see your hand at work and to believe your word! And, Lord please help us to boldly live out these next few years so that we might display your love to the lost and bound of this world. Help us Lord so that Jesus will indeed find faith here when he returns. We pray in the name of Jesus! Amen!
