With Liberty and Justice for All

We have had many, many sad days recently. The lack of professionalism from professional football – the NFL; the constant unwarranted attacks on President Trump; hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria; earthquakes in Mexico and now awful devastation in Las Vegas.  So many sad calamities and events too difficult to process in such rapid succession. As a country, we’re being hit over and over – like a fighter. And, believe me – we are in a fight – for the very soul of our nation!

It seems our nation is being torn apart in the natural and in the spiritual. The forces arrayed against us rage and rail in their ferocity and hatred for anything good and righteous. Righteousness itself is attacked every day now by those who have a penchant for hatred and angst. They revel in their sin and debauchery, and love their sin so much they are completely blind to the damage they are doing to themselves and our country. It seems they want to completely destroy America, and anyone or anything good or normal. I would never have believed that people would kill others – their own brothers and sisters with such wild abandon and yet it is happening everyday now. The left hates the right – enough to wish everyone of us were dead and to say so – continually and with vile venom, viciousness and hatred. Things too dastardly to repeat. However, the reverse is not true – we do not hate the left or liberals.  In fact, many of us pray daily for them – for their eyes to be opened to the truth.

This is the greatest nation on earth and what makes us great is our freedom and ability to adapt and overcome. We have faced many dire mountains in the past – Hitler, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, the 60’s and many other things and we always came through it together – left and right – agreeing to disagree but coming together for the common good.

This time it is different.  There is a spirit of hatred and rage involved in all the recent events like none I’ve ever seen before – murderous, rebellious and totally without regard to any common decency.  It speaks of rape, child abuse and murder with glee. The spirit behind rage is murder. It is attacking our most sacred institutions and the presidency of our land. It is full of hate and rage – completely without reason. Reminds me of Hamon, Nazi Germany and the Japanese who ravaged China.

And, I am so ashamed of these people.  I know we are only passing through this land, but it still grieves my heart to see such devastation and widespread evil.  I fear for the souls of those who are behind all this for the bible tells us

[Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV]  These six [things] the LORD hates, Yes, seven [are] an abomination to Him:  A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood,  A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil,  A false witness [who] speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

I for one wouldn’t want to be an abomination to our Lord! Look how far we have fallen from what our land was originally formed as:

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all! Not just the rich, or the smart ones, or those with connections – but, for all of our people. As a lad, I made this oath every day at school and I meant it! I still do! We need to step back and reaffirm our commitment to this grand experiment of government by the people for the people or we shall perish.

We must remember the strategy of our enemy is to divide us so he can separate the weak that he may devour them. We are weaker, more isolated, unguarded and more prone to attack when we are divided:

[1Pe 5:8 NKJV] 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

We need to stand in prayer – not back down or back away from these times. We must not allow the tree of liberty to be snuffed out by liberalism or communism or socialism or any ideology. We must not lose the white house to the likes of those we just replaced – we must stand firm in our conviction and we may have to go the extra mile and pay the ultimate price if needs be to keep our children and grandchildren free.

This is not a call to arms but a call to prayer!

I’m speaking to the moral majority, the religious right – we must not go back to being silent and hoping everything will be ok because it won’t. We must remain engaged and vigilant and see this through to the very end. We must stand for the 2nd amendment – if they ever take this from us we will be their slaves. We must stand for the unborn, the weak, the bound and the infirm. Jesus told us we would be persecuted and this is the beginning of that. Yet, nevertheless, we must stand and pray, and then we’ll watch the Lord deliver us!

Dear heavenly Father, please help us to stay true to you and your word. Please help us to stay true to our republic and to our brothers and sisters in this land. Help us not to succumb to hatred or violence, or revenge. Help us Father! Heal all the wounds and hurt places on both sides of this and restore us one to another in harmony and love! Heal us Lord and help us to be kind and generous to each other – help us not be easily offended or enraged. I speak to the spirit of rage that is playing havoc across our land and I bind you to your roots in the name of Jesus. I declare your assignments against us and our land are cancelled right now in Jesus’ name. And in the name of Jesus, the Holy Anointed One, I command you to be still and quiet, and to leave us now and go wherever Jesus wants you to go! Father, I ask you to loose your ministering spirits to minister peace and calm to our people – throughout our land.  Lord, you are our refuge, our fortress and our high tower! We need you Lord – now more than ever. Please help us to heal our land – in Jesus’ mighty and matchless name we pray! Amen!
