Whom Have I

[Psalm 73:25-28 NKJV] 25 Whom have I in heaven [but You]? And [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; [But] God [is] the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 27 For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. 28 But [it is] good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works.

In this Psalm, a lament over the tragedy of the wicked, it turned from describing the unfairness of how the wicked are not troubled or discouraged as the righteous are, to one of deep deep worship when Asaph went into the sanctuary and considered and understood their end.

You see, the light of the wicked will be extinguished and brought to desolation in a moment, and there is no recovery from that end. It is final and eternal.

[Proverbs 13:9 NKJV] 9 The light of the righteous rejoices, But the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

[Job 18:5 NKJV] 5 “The light of the wicked indeed goes out, And the flame of his fire does not shine.

[Proverbs 24:20 NKJV] 20 For there will be no prospect for the evil [man]; The lamp of the wicked will be put out.

But, we will shine like the sun!

[Matthew 13:43 NKJV] 43 “Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

In this day and age (moed – appointed time), where there is so much turmoil. dissension and despair. Evil abounds and calls good bad and bad good. It attacks everything wholesome and righteous. Yet, in all of this God is not mocked!

[Galatians 6:7 NKJV] 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

God’s arm is no shorter or weaker nor has he become deaf!

[Isaiah 59:1 NKJV] 1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.

The Lord is on his throne and he will have his way!

[Psalm 47:8 NKJV] 8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.

No matter how hard it is, or tough it may seem to press on – keep on keeping on for the Kingdom! Never give up, never back off, never compromise with evil! This is a fight to the death and according to God’s Word, we win!

[Revelation 11:15 NKJV] 15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become [the kingdoms] of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

We thank you and praise you Lord for your loving kindness to us! You are so, so good to us! We love you and adore you – you are indeed our portion forever! You are the strength of our hearts and your joy is our strength! Please help us to stay the course, to finish the race and to complete this walk well Oh Lord. Help us to never compromise or sacrifice our integrity on the alter of convenience or to backslide into oblivion. Help us to keep our eyes on Jesus, the pearl of great price and to follow him forever! I pray in the name above every other name, the name of Yeshua Hamashiach – the Holy Anointed One! Amen!
