I was reminded this morning of the state of education here in the home of the free and land of the brave, by an article from a episode of ‘American Minute with Bill Federer’ concerning the education of our children by Dr Benjamin Rush where he stated in a letter to Jeremy Belknap, dated July 13, 1789:
“The great enemy of the salvation of man, in my opinion, never invented a more effectual means of extirpating (removing) Christianity from the world than by persuading mankind that it was improper to read the Bible at schools.”
For all the work that is needed to restore our Republic, none is more important than reinstating the use of the Holy Bible in the education of our youth. The young will have to carry the day very soon in order to sustain this Republic, and if they have no knowledge of the Holy Anointed One, or His ways – they will fail miserably.
Dr. Benjamin Rush explained in Essays, Literary, Moral, and Philosophical, 1798:
“Christianity is the only true and perfect religion, and that in proportion as mankind adopts its principles and obeys its precepts, they will be wise and happy … In contemplating the political institutions of the United States, I lament that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes and take so little pains to prevent them. … We profess to be republicans, and yet we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government, that is, the universal education of our youth in the principles of Christianity by the means of the Bible. “
Our country was built on the foundation of the truth and veracity of the Holy Bible and a belief in the Savior – Jesus Christ. We have fallen very far from that perch, but not too far that we can’t turn and reinforce the foundation. As a nation, and a distinct people we must return to our roots, we must strengthen the foundation and re-sow the seeds of wisdom in our youth. The double threat of progressive liberalism and islam looms ever larger and their hatred of all things righteous is very evident.
I thank God for a President who loves and honors the Lord, his Word and prayer. Thank you Lord! While the future looks bleak, there is a fork in the road before us. Let us choose wisely and choose righteousness! Let us restore the foundations of liberty and sow righteousness into our youth. Israel kept falling because they failed to educate their youth on the ways of the Lord. We have almost gone too far down the same road, but we aren’t doomed as there is yet hope. While we breathe, and live in the Lord, there is nothing He cannot do!
Dear heavenly Father, please open the eyes and ears of the people of this land to see the truth! Please remove their blinders and the scales from their eyes so they can see Jesus! Help us to recover and seize the day! Help us to educate our youth in your ways, to teach them the fear of the Lord, and to instill in them the precepts of your Word! Help us Oh Lord! We need you now more than ever. As a people, we need you! Please forgive us for allowing this impasse to occur and give us the boldness to take back the ground we have forsaken. Help us Lord to drive a stake in the ground and declare ‘No further humanism! No further liberalism! No further islam! For we are a people of the Book, and we trust in our Lord’ I pray in the name of Jesus, the Holy Anointed One! Amen!
