The American church is sound asleep at the wheel. Either too tired, or too cowardly to stand for righteousness – it allowed prayer to be removed from our schools, abortion to pass as law and become the scourge that it is today and now to feed a major political party such venom that it has become the party of death. “Abortions at all costs, and at any time – even right up to and including birth” it cries! We are on a slippery slope, and were it not for President Trump and his circle of supporters and the mercy of Almighty God, we would most certainly be doomed. All we have to do is review history to see what happened in Germany prior to WW II.
A founder of the Confessing Church, Rev. Martin Niemöller wrote: “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak for me.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer another founder of the Confessing Church, said “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless.”
On February 16, 2002, Dr. James Dobson told the National Religious Broadcasters: “Those of you who feel that the church has no responsibility in the cultural area … What if it were 1943 and you were in Nazi Germany and you knew what Hitler was doing to the Jews … Would you say, ‘We’re not political-that’s somebody else’s problem’?”
Too many people want to turn away from the obvious and allow things to progress on their own as if they would correct their course on their own and everything will turn out alright. The people of Germany thought the same thing and look what they allowed to happen! We must stand for righteousness!
Here’s a small dose of truth: Islam is not compatible with our Republic and those who adhere to its tenets must not be allowed to hold office in this land. Abortion is murder – and evil. All of the weird sexual gender and anything goes crowd is wrong – dead wrong – and is evil. It’s not hard to discern, it’s as plain as day and night. Yet, we are loathe to call these things for what they are. We’re afraid we might hurt some bodies feelings or be called names because we don’t fit the world’s agenda. Well, guess what, we don’t! Father, help us, your church to step out boldly and declare the truth. Jesus is the truth, the light, the life and the way. Your Word is truth and contains no lie. Give us courage to declare and then stand by the truth. Help us Lord not to look down our noses at those outside your church, but to cry out to them as if to men about to go over a cliff they did not know existed – that we might help save some. Help us Lord to stop compromising with evil and to stand on your Word, on righteousness and for our children’s sake. Help us to declare Jesus is Lord – for He is the Lord of all creation and He paid the price to redeem everyone one of us. Help us to stand against islam, against abortion and against all sexual deviation and immorality.
