As I prayed for our country this morning, I was given the idea of restoring and rebuilding the gates of liberty. I think we’ve grown complacent over our freedom and how dear it is. There are many throughout the world who would give anything, in fact – everything to have what we have – freedom and liberty.
“Give me liberty or give me death!” This was the cry of Patrick Henry to the Second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775. And, many have given the ultimate sacrifice to retain and sustain that freedom ever since. Thomas Jefferson is credited with the saying “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” As sad as that may be, it does have the ring of truth to it.
This may offend many, but I am not referring to the statue of liberty as a gate of liberty in this entry. The statue of liberty while distinctly a French-America icon was born in the mind of a free-mason and symbolizes many of the ancient goddesses of worship from antiquity. When I looked up the phrase of the Gates of Liberty, the above link was the one I was drawn to but it wasn’t what the Lord was referring to – I just needed to clear that up.
The gates of liberty are found in an amazing document – the Declaration of Independence, of the United States of America:
- that all men are created equal
- that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights
- that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
- that governments are instituted, deriving their power from the consent of the governed
- that whenever government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it
And, so with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor. What a divine hand was upon these men as they crafted such a beautiful and forceful instrument! We as a people need to revisit these ideas, dwell on them and incorporate them into our worldview once again.
The enemy has always tried to do an end-run around God, but he is a loser. America became great in spite of the trappings of idolatry he tried to infuse upon it’s genesis. And, he has persisted in his endeavor to place land mines in our path every since. Today, we see another being set in motion – BLM, Antifa, anarchy and socialism. Without the rule of law, without men and women dedicated to enforcing the laws of the land and without The Lord at the helm, we are doomed and the enemy knows that.
Well, shields up! Dear heavenly Father, we hold these truths to be self-evident and we ask You Lord to rebuild and restore the gates of liberty here in the home of the brave and the land of the free! Help us oh Lord to restore justice to our judicial system, to restore and replace all the enemy has stolen from us! We ask You to help us abolish the abomination of abortion in all it’s ugly forms here in our land! We declare we are the sons and daughters of righteousness and we will accept no other rule in our lives than Your divine rule! We declare America will return to righteousness and we will again be a beacon of light to the world for Your glory! We lay the axe to the roots of all evil planned for our nation, and to those behind it. We bind all evil plans and designs against America and its leaders in Jesus’ mighty name! We loose unity, love and reconciliation to all our people in Jesus’ name! Open the eyes of those being held between heaven and hell Lord! Open their eyes so they may see the truth and be healed! In Jesus’ name we pray! Amen!
