As I began to pray for America today, this song (America) came to mind. We used to sing this when I went to elementary school. It makes me very sad that our children are not being taught to love America any longer. We are so blessed and privileged to be Americans – to live in a beautiful and rich place where the hand of God can be seen and appreciated daily. While we are not citizens of this world, while here on planet earth – we still get to live here – in the land of the free and the home of the brave! Thank you Lord! My prayer is that our children, and their children, and their children’s children also get to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Dear Author of liberty, to thee we pray. Father, please heal our land. Restore us in love and harmony one to another, and heal all the broken and wounded places in our hearts, minds, souls and spirits. Bless us with great peace. Lord, we come to You and repent for all the wicked things our country has done. We turn aside from them and seek your wonderful face. Please forgive us and heal our land. Open the eyes of your people to see the truth, to see and discern the real enemy and his tactics to divide us. Expose all the deception and lies being used against us so we can right the ship and stay on course. There is so much pain and angst, so much turmoil and destruction. Lord, we ask You to intercede in this. Give our leaders clear marching orders so we can quell all this anarchy and restore peace. We pray Lord that You will cause the hearts of all those bent on destruction to be broken over what they have done and what they are doing – convict them Lord and help them to turn away from all this and repent. Heal them Lord! And, heal our land Father! We pray for revival across this land – for holy fire to descend into every family and set our hearts ablaze! We pray in Jesus’ mighty name! Amen!
