I keep hearing various Christian leaders say it doesn’t matter who is elected as President of the United States, because God will make it all work out ok. Or, because fate is already settled – or it’s already predestined and nothing we do will affect the outcome.
I couldn’t disagree more! The verse that keeps coming back to me is
[1 Corinthians 14:8 NKJV] For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?
So many saints have no idea we are called to war against evil, against deception and dishonestly and against everything of the wicked one. What about the watchmen? Aren’t we supposed to call the people to battle evil? If we see the enemy approaching and encamping around the cities are we not to cry out and alert the people?
Everyone not of God gives sure and certain sounds. Communists and socialists declare their intentions for all to hear – they stand up and blatantly declare what they intend to do. Their job is to destroy American freedom and close the doors of Fundamentalist churches. How about the gay/lesbian folks? Is anyone uncertain of their intentions?
Sexists, don’t they blow their trumpet loud and clear? They are going to destroy everything decent in America. On every side, marching like armies from hell, there comes the enemies of the Book and the church and our nation. From every place these people march; they are playing trumpets and everyone can understand exactly what they are playing and saying.
And yet, from the pulpit – as the oracles of God Most High – we receive ambiguous messages about how we shouldn’t worry or be concerned; or it’s ok if candidate A is pro-abortion. After all, there is no life until after birth so it’s ok to take that which we cannot create and snuff it out for convenience sake. Or, a little corruption is ok as long as it doesn’t hurt us directly. But, isn’t that like taking a little feces and mixing it into the brownies – after all it’s only a little bit?
The silent majority is silent because the pulpit is too timid and uncertain of itself to call the people to battle! Sin is sin – and there is no sin in the presence of the Most High! It cannot exist in His presence – thank God! We cannot look like the world and expect God to reward us for blending in. The stakes are too high! The road to hell is broad and paved with good intentions, but it leads to death. There is another verse that resounds in my mind and spirit:
[Revelation 18:4 NKJV] And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
Father, I pray you will stir a fire in the hearts, minds and spirits of your shepards. Help them to see the truth – that they have been had by the enemy! Help them to see what he intends for them! Help them to understand what their reward for lukewarmness will be! Help them to awaken and sound the clarion call to battle! We must take a stand and stand for righteousness and we must do it now. Too many lives depend on it. Help us Father – make all hidden things come out into the light – reveal it all Lord! No tiptoeing around, no excuses – show the world the evils it coddles and convict us all of our complacency. We look to You Lord for You have the Words of life! We speak life – dry bones come together, flesh come upon them and live! In Jesus’ matchless name! Amen!
